Well, this morning, after several months of avoiding the gym, I finally bit the bullet and got up at 5:30am to work out!  The first day is always the hardest, but it always feels the best.  Of course, my routine was completely thrown off and I am just now drinking my first cup of coffee.  I am sure after a couple of days of getting back to the gym, the new routine will fall into place.

 

This is somewhat of a normal situation for any new routine we know we must do to achieve our goals.  This is why I am such a big fan of Power Hour.  It takes a few times of getting into the routine before you get into the groove and begin to see results.  Gary Keller tells us that we need to get comfortable being uncomfortable in this market.  So come join me tomorrow morning to start a new routine at 8:30am and give your business a jump start!

 

Also, as a reminder, tomorrow’s team meeting is our monthly mandatory team meeting from 10am to 11:30am in the Training Room.  We will have food, fun, financial updates, legal updates, professional development and launching an exciting summer contest!!

There has been a lot of great activity and enthusiasm around here in the last few days.  This market is tough, but we are all in this together. I am really excited about all this productivity and all the work of KW Commercial.

The summer for me is all about swim team.  All three of my kids, Kelsey (10), Erika (8) and Nathan (5) love the water and swim team. My oldest daughter, Kelsey, has been an inspiration to me and many others, including her coach, on her perseverence.  Kelsey had a near drowning experience at age 5 and it took her two years before she learned how to swim and get over her fear.  Now Kelsey is an active swimmer on the swim team, is a great learner and has learned to trust her swim coach implicitly, as he is the one who taught her to swim.  

This weekend Kelsey was swimming the backstroke and was coming at the wall full strength.  She missed her timing and went head first into the wall.  The whole crowd stopped and said, “oooh”.  She graciously turned to the other swimmers to shake hands and calmly got out of the water.  I helped her get out and she then started to cry.  She got ice, lots of hugs and water.  She was clearly in pain, but she had another race to swim.

Kelsey persevered through her fear and pain and swam her last race.  She is always a reminder to me that just doing our best may not be enough.  Having the support of a coach, teammates and a system for performing what is required for success is what will get you to your goals and dreams.

We are all in this together, the strong and focused will not only survive, but thrive!  So grab the reigns and let’s Giddy Up!!

The difference between a good job and exceptional is not a huge amount of effort.  In life it seems that so much is about the “little things”.  Taking a little extra effort to call an old friend, send the hand written note and follow up.  None of these things are a lot of extra effort, but it amazing to me that so few professionals do some of those things.

Recently a friend and I were looking at cars.  So few sales people asked me any questions, let alone asked for the business!!!  In this market, I would have expected car salespeople to be hungry and aggressive, but they were not exceptional, except at Michael Stead Cadillac in Walnut Creek, that was fun!  A little extra effort can be the difference between “just looking” and closing the sale!

We can have reasons or results.  I prefer to have results.  It really frustrates me when I do not get the expected results and that can be a motivator or a demotivator.  Sometimes you just need a moment to take a deep breath, walk around the block or say a prayer to get some quiet and refocus.  One of my favorite Keller Williams tools is the 411 www.productivitywarrior.com for accountability.  I know for myself that when I don’t have laser beam focus on my goals, I seem to have more “reasons” vs. “results”.

How can you be exceptional in your results today??

  • Power Hour-make your calls for one hour and be hungry!  Ask for the business.  I am asking agents all over SF to help join us in our adventure to re-launch the San Francisco Market Center.  My goal is to set 4 appointments today…what is yours?
